Children's Day was celebrated @ St. Patrick Senior Secondary School on the 27th of November 2023. It was celebrated at the Lily Regis Auditorium at the school premises.
Prof. Dr. S. Mohan, Vice Chancellor, Puducherry Technological University was the Chief Guest.
Rev. Fr. R. Joseph Paul, Advisory Committee Member presided over the function.
Dr. G. Kavipriya, Alumna, St. Patrick School was the Special Guest.
Prizes were distributed to children of classes of I to V who won in various competitions. Children of the primary section, class I to V, performed various cultural events that were appreciated by all parents. Parents, well wishers, staff and students attended the function.
The Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign began on September 15 and culminated on Sunday. • The campaign aims to promote community participation, emphasise the importance of a clean village, reinforce sanitation as a collective responsibility, and prepare for Swachh Bharat Diwas (October 2).
The theme of SHS-2023 is to achieve a "Garbage Free India" by highlighting visible, high level cleanliness through Shramdaan and Jan Bhagidari.
Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign is being celebrated from 15th September to 2nd October this year under the joint aegis of DDWS & MoHUA for undertaking shramdaan activities aiming to generate jan andolan through community participation; to provide impetus on implementation of SBM; to disseminate the importance of a sampoorna swachh village; to reinforce the concept of Sanitation as everyone’s business; and as a prelude for the Swachh Bharat Diwas (2nd October) with nationwide participation.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi encourages people to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi's vision of Clean India.Now the time has come to devote ourselves towards 'Swachhta' (cleanliness) of our motherland.It is the cleanliness awareness drive undertaken by all departments of Government of India.
In our School premises also Swachhata Pakhwada - 2023 was oragnized and the students from all classes 1 std to XII std participated. Teachers of our school was also involved in the activities. The School CSS and NSS students participated in a rally to create awareness to public about saving water for future.
Pongal referred to as Thai Pongal is a multi-day Hindu harvest festival celebrated
by Tamils in India. It is observed at the start of the month Thai according to Tamil solar calendar
and this festival is always celebrated during the month of January.
Our school celebrated the Pongal festival with pomp and show on the 12 th of January this
year.. Students spoke about the importance of the festival. Our school correspondent Mr. Regis
Fredrick, Medical Director Mrs. Zita Fredrick, Principal Mrs. Alphone Hilda, teachers and
students of our school participated in the function.
Our school conducts the State Level Ranking Table Tennis Championship every year. This year it was conducted during the month of June for 2 days. Students from various schools participated and prizes were distributed to the winners. Our School correspondent Mr. Fredrick, Medical Correspondent Mrs. Zita Fredrick and Principal Mrs. Alphonse Hilda inaugurated the competition on Friday. On Saturday prizes were distributes. The Table Tennis Association sports authorities of Puducherry were also present for the function.
Blood donation is a voluntary procedure that can help save lives..Every year our school conducts Blood Donation Camp in commemoration of our Founder Mr. Regis. This year the 3rd Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with JIPMER Mobile Blood Bank was conducted on 5th March. Our school Correspondent Mr. Regis Fredrick, staff and Alumni students of our school and parents and well wishers came forward to donate blood to the benefit of the needy. The camp was organized by our Medical Director Mrs. Zita Fredrick, Principal Mrs. Alphonse Hilda and NSS students of our school.
Every year, Talent Day is celebrated in our school to exhibit the talents of individual
students studying in various classes. Teachers and students take efforts to come up with cultural
programmes which are exhibited to the parents of our school. The Talent Day programme is
conducted in our school auditorium every Saturday for a particular class. The parents of the
students belonging to the respective classes are invited for the programme. Our School
Correspondent, Mr. Regis Fredrick and our School Principal, Mrs. Alphonse Hilda also attend
the Talent Day programme and interact with the parents. The talents of students exhibited
in the programme are well appreciated by parents.
In the Talen Day programme conducted on 14/7/23, students of Class IX B & D have
exhibited their talents.
Thiru Kumaraswami Kamaraj popularly known as K. Kamaraj was born on 15 July 1903.
He was a great visionary, human being and development practitioner. Kamaraj was the third
Chief Minister of Madras State (Tamil Nadu) and served from 1954 to 1963. He was known for
his simplicity and integrity. He played a major role in developing the infrastructure of the
Madras state present Tamil Nadu and worked to improve the quality of life of the needy and the
underprivileged classes. As Chief Minister his contributions to agriculture, education and
industrial development are enormous.
Aimed at eradicating illiteracy, the government of Puducherry has declared July 15, the
birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, as Student Day. Our school celebrates
July 15 as Student Day every year. This year Student Day was celebrated on July 15 th for classes
VIII to XII. The Chief guest for the function was . Our school correspondent Mr. Regis Fredrick,
Medical Director Mrs. Zita Fredrick, Principal Mrs. Alphonse Hilda, Teachers of classes VIII to
XII and Students of classes VIII to XII also attended the function. Puducherry University
Professor Mrs. Lakshmi Thanthai and our Alumni student Mr. Prasanna Adhisesha were the
Chief guest.
French National Day / Bastille Day are the common name given in English-speaking countries to
the national day in France. This day is celebrated on July 14 every year. This event commemorates the
fall of the Bastille and the beginning of French Revolution. This year our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra
Modi joined the French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron as the guest of honor for the French National
Day celebrated in Paris on July 14th.
Our School celebrated the French National Day on July 14th with Catherine SUARD the new
Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai. Our school Correspondent Mr. Regis Fredrick,
Medical Director Mrs. Zita Fredrick, Principal Mrs. Alphonse Hilda, French teachers and the students of
11th standard learning French as second language also attended the function.
India has declared 2023 as International Year of Millets and is also endorsed by The U.N Food
and Agriculture organization. To support this our school organized a Food festival on 12/7/23 and
14/7/23.
Students of XI standard who belong to Bio group displayed a variety of dishes using various
millets. The nutritional value of all the dishes were explained by the students to the visitors. On 12/7/23
our school correspondent Mr. Regis Fredrick and Medical Director Mrs. Zita Fredrick visited the Food
festival premises at school and appreciated the students. The Staff of Patrick school also participated in
this event and appreciated the students.
